Also known as “brightness” or “light output.” Reference point: A standard 100-watt incandescent light bulb produces about 1,500 – 1,700 lumens. It can be LED, fluorescent, halogen or incandescent. Lumens A measurement of light emitted by a source. So what if you’re getting ready to switch to LED lighting in your home or office? How many LED lights, or LED lumens, will you need to light a room? Outdoor roads, tunnels, building facades, indoor offices and shop floors are entirely lit using LED lighting. LEDs use significantly less energy than fluorescent or incandescent lights and the price has come down dramatically. Changing from 4000K to 5000K will typically only increase brightness by 20-60lm, in the same fixture, of course. These days, LED lights are routinely used throughout residential and commercial building projects. While a 2700K bulb will cast a cozy, orange glow and a 6000K bulb will emit a crisp, blue light, the brightness will nearly be the same. Good question! Lighting color, or light temperature, is measured in Kelvin (K). The average LED light temperatures range from 2700K (warmest) to 6000K (coolest). How does color temperature affect brightness? So as a rule of thumb, high output LEDs have an efficacy of 100lm/w or more while some commercial LED lights, such as LED Tubes, can feature efficacies of over 130lm/w. As an example, a LED Flood Light with 10,000lm and 100W has an efficacy of 100lm/w. This can easily be calculated by dividing the lumens/watt. Efficacy is essentially, how you could measure the “bang for your buck” when it comes to the brightness you are looking to achieve. For a mental image, a standard 16W A21 LED Bulb is an ideal replacement to an 100W incandescent bulb, and will be as bright, If not brighter!Īnother common measurement you might notice on specification sheets for LED lights is efficacy! And no, this is not the same as efficiency, which refers to the amount of energy used. Also, when you provide power to an LED light, more energy is converted to light rather than heat which is why you will often see wattage equivalency listed on the specifications for LED lights. Created by design, the LED light has a minimal heat output, which would place them as less hazardous and allow construction of the bulbs to include shatterproof materials. Without a good knowledge of lumens, it could be safe to assume that an LED having fewer watts would be less bright than a traditional bulb that has higher wattages however, that is most certainly not the case! As previously mentioned above, a LED light requires way less energy to operate and produce the same, if not more light than a traditional bulb. Why are LEDs brighter with less wattage you ask? To put this into perspective, a standard household LED Bulb has an average lumen 800lm, while a large commercial fixture, such LED Shoe Boxes or Stadium Lights, can reach 160,000lm per fixture! What are lumens? Glad you asked! Lumens (lm) are a measurement of light output! This would mean that the higher the lumens, the higher the brightness of LED lights is going to appear. Although we all know LED lights are a brighter replacement for fluorescent, incandescent, and halogen bulbs, and they require far fewer watts to produce that brighter light, we measure the brightness of LED lights in lumens. In traditional lighting knowledge, wattage is the standard measure of brightness for most, with higher wattage portraying a brighter bulb.

Traditionally network security started with maintaining a secure perimeter, meaning users or devices connected to the corporate network often had some minimal level of access to corporate resources by default. The other popular term, zero trust, is more of a broad model for securing your infrastructure. Many of the MFA platforms we’ll discuss here can be used to facilitate passwordless authentication if your business case is a candidate, just note that there may be a maturation process for your MFA deployment. If you can authenticate users with more secure factors -biometric or software tokens-passwords become extraneous. Passwordless is a straightforward concept. Since we’re talking about MFA we should cover a couple of the major buzzwords: passwordless and zero trust. Authentication attempts leveraging additional MFA factors require either interaction from a user with a registered device or a physical hardware token, minimizing the impact of a compromised username and password. The authentication process no longer relies exclusively on knowledge-based elements like a username and password, which can be compromised through phishing or other malicious techniques ( like simply asking for credentials). MFA offers significant enhancements to the authentication process, the first of which is the additional factor itself: a smartphone, hardware MFA token, or an SMS or email-based authentication code. Modern infrastructure and web-based business applications make maintaining this single point of entry much more difficult without specialized tools to maintain security posture. Employees used a single set of credentials to authenticate and receive authorization to corporate resources and access business apps. Before the explosion of the internet and web-based apps, the single digital point of entry was the corporate directory. In physical security this is often accomplished by limiting the points of entry, which allows security personnel to check IDs or have individuals walk through metal detectors. The most effective way forward in enhancing access security is implementing multi-factor authentication (MFA). All these attacks key on traditional credentials, usernames and passwords, which are past their expiration date as a legitimate security measure. Whether it’s advanced phishing techniques, credential stuffing, or even credentials compromised through social engineering or breaches of a third-party service, credentials are easily the most vulnerable point in defending corporate systems. Today’s credential-based attacks are much more sophisticated. A portfolio primarily exists to achieve the strategic business objectives of an organization. The significance of a portfolio roadmap is further emphasized in the flow of processes in portfolio management. From Portfolio Strategic Plan to Portfolio Roadmap Irrespective of the approach used in portfolio management such as predictive (waterfall), adaptive (agile), hybrid, or any other, the roadmap acts as an information radiator. Provides the foundation or initial basis on which internal and external dependencies are established and evaluated.Ī portfolio roadmap is crucial because it shows the strategic intent of the organization in a visual (graphical) way.The low-level details include the low-level schedule and timeline of portfolio components such as projects, programs, operations, or other work. Provides a high-level plan for your portfolio, based on which low-level details will be prepared.Graphically shows all the portfolio components (elements) to achieve organizational strategy and objectives.Illustrating further on the above definition, you can say the following about the portfolio roadmap: Portfolio roadmap is a document that provides high-level strategic direction and portfolio information in a chronological fashion for portfolio management and ensures dependencies within the portfolio are established and evaluated. As per Project Management Institute (PMI®): Let’s start with the definition of the portfolio roadmap. In this article, we will learn more about portfolio roadmaps, and how to build such a roadmap with MS Project software. Now, to successfully enable the portfolio manager and hence, C-suite executives, a widely used artifact or key deliverable is the portfolio roadmap. It’s key to have consistent success for an organization, deliver predictably, and remain ahead of the curve. This is because, with portfolios, an organization achieves its strategic goals and objectives, which are outlined in the organization’s strategic plan.īy this time, the importance of portfolios and portfolio management is becoming clear. Portfolio is completely strategic in nature, whereas programs and projects are typically tactical. Most important of all, it’s Portfolio which directly links the organizational strategy to a prioritized set of programs, projects, and operations. At the portfolio level, you not only authorize the components but also can deactivate or even terminate a component. It’s Portfolio that decides which component Projects and Programs should take and which ones to drop. Portfolio, on the other hand, is about meeting the strategic business objectives of an organization with a collection of the right portfolio components. Program is all about getting benefits by coordinating the components within its scope. Project is all about deliverables and it creates a unique product, service, or result. – Quote from the book, “I Want To Be A PfMP – The Plain and Simple Way To Be a PfMP” Project creates, program guides, portfolio decides. However, it’s Lightroom (not the Classic version) that really is the Cloud hugger, as it stores all image data and automatically synchronises to the Cloud. But again, it too can access images saved to the Cloud via Lightroom, but only if the folders are set-up to synchronise. Lightroom Classic operates under the same guise, being focused on local storage editing. But images saved in the Cloud via Lightroom (or appropriately synchronised in Lightroom Classic) are accessible from directly within Photoshop, provided you have an internet connection. It’s not intrinsically set-up to be a cloud-based editor as the desktop version utilises local storage primarily. Photoshop can synchronize to the Creative Cloud to upload or draw down creative content such as templates, images and other Cloud documents. Lightroom is fine for single images, but if you need to combine images, or images, shapes and text, you need Photoshop. These are probably the most common uses for layering images together outside of Photoshop, and make it easy to stay within the Lightroom sphere without exporting. But it can perform photo merging in the forms of panoramas, High Dynamic Range (HDR) images, and an HDR panorama. Lightroom Classic operates on a single-image basis without the option to layer. Templates are available via Adobe Stock and are searchable from right within the starting window when creating a new document. That makes it useful not only for photographers and retouchers but for graphic designers, artists, illustrators and many more. That means multiple images, text layers, adjustment layers and graphics can be combined one atop the other for special composites with plenty of blending options. Photoshop’s main advantage here is that it is a layers-based editor. Lightroom is good at enhancing single images with both global and local adjustments, but Photoshop offers far more precise selection and masking tools. The healing brush also gives a Visualize Spots tick box which converts the image to a high contrast black and white view for noticing sensor or dust spots for removal. Masks can be shown with a colored overlay, (default is red) that can be toggled on or off. As can the healing brush with parameters to change feather and opacity. This can be turned off, however, and the brush can be altered for changes in feather, flow, and density. The Adjustment brush has an Auto Mask feature which will detect tone and colour from the initial sample point when brushing onto an image so that complex edges can be selectively edited without interfering with surrounding objects. Not capable of layering, Lightroom instead makes selections by using non-destructive local adjustment tools. This saves a lot of time and often does a fantastic job but can also be refined using the Select and Mask options. Object selection is powered by AI to scan an image and automatically detect the subject, making a clean and accurate mask without user input. Other tools include the Lasso tool, Magic Wand, and more recently Quick Selection and Object Selection. These paths can have text added to or simply be used as a layer mask to cut out subjects. Probably the most flexible is the Pen tool, which users can draw, bend, lengthen, or shorten to create working paths. Photoshop is renowned for its selection and masking tools. Photoshop has no equivalent for this, though you can use Adobe Bridge (which comes with it) to browse folders. You can choose to keep all your file organisation within Lightroom’s architecture (leaving local file directories alone) or manually organise them and point Lightroom in the right direction (the former is our favourite way of working). Images can be searched for in Lightroom Classic with a variety of criteria including camera settings, keywords, and ratings. Collections help to divide up groups of images, and Smart Collections go one further with the ability to input rules which allow Lightroom Classic to automatically group images with minimal fuss. However, delve into the Collections tab and you’re met with a Lightroom Classic-specific set of image folders. In the Library module you can access the same directories that are stored natively on your computer or laptop under the Folders tab. Photographs are stored in the Library and split into Collections and Folders. Lightroom on the other hand is designed for large-scale image cataloguing and management. It also lists documents saved or shared with you via the Cloud and allows easy recalling of delete files, too. In Photoshop, users can access Cloud-synchronised photos directly from the main window in the Lightroom Photos tab under the Your Work heading. You have to download Filmora9 filmstocks Effects sets for this filmora.
